This workshop also provides the cultural and historical background of tea ceremony to help participants gain a deeper appreciation of this traditional art.
Course Content
"The historical and cultural background of the Japanese tea ceremony (Lesson 1): Introduce the origin of the Japanese tea ceremony and its important position in Japanese culture, and learn the basic etiquette and philosophy of the tea ceremony. Introduction to Tea Ceremony Tools and Tea Sets (Lesson 2): Understand the uses of commonly used tea ceremony tools and tea sets, such as tea bowls, tea ladles, tea spoons, etc., and learn how to use and maintain these tea sets correctly. Basic Tea Brewing Skills (Lesson 3): Learn the basic steps and techniques for brewing matcha, including water temperature control, tea volume preparation and how to make fine tea foam. Tea Ceremony Process Practice (Course 4): Practice the complete tea ceremony process step by step, emphasizing the correctness and fluency of each action, and learn how to conduct a tea ceremony with a professional attitude. Mindfulness and Concentration in the Tea Ceremony (Lesson 5): Explore the mindfulness and concentration in the tea ceremony, and learn how to incorporate a calm and introspective mentality into the tea ceremony. Practice and communication (Lesson 6): Students perform the tea ceremony in person, share and communicate with each other, and the instructor provides instant feedback and suggestions. "
