In the 2017 Policy Address, the Chief Executive advocated the establishment of district health centers and the development of primary care to reduce the pressure on the Hospital Authority. Today, district health centers have been established or will be established soon in Kwai Tsing, Sham Shui Po, Wong Tai Sin, Tuen Mun, Southern District and Yuen Long. The remaining 11 districts (including Wan Chai District) have established smaller district health centers to implement the "district-based" this, public-private collaboration and medical-social cooperation.”
As the operating organization of the Wan Chai District Health Center, the Methodist Center is committed to the development of primary medical services in Hong Kong through cooperation with private doctors, local medical service providers and social welfare organizations, and supports the government's disease prevention work.
