This course introduces the basic principles of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and its application in treating common mental health problems. Learn core techniques for challenging negative thought patterns and promoting positive behavior change.

Course Content

Basic principles of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) (first 1 hour): Introduce the core concepts and theoretical basis of CBT, including cognitive distortions, the interaction between emotion and behavior. Participants will learn how to use CBT theory to understand the case Emotional and behavioral patterns. Common CBT skills and practical tools (intermediate 1 hour): Understand the common intervention techniques in CBT, such as automatic thought recording, cognitive restructuring, and behavioral activation. Learn how to use these tools to help clients adjust to irrational thought patterns. CBT case analysis and simulation exercises (last 1 hour): Participants will practice CBT technology through simple case analysis and conduct intervention exercises in simulated cases. Reflection and discussion will be held in class to help students consolidate the CBT concepts and skills they have learned.
